The Geo-Filter feature on Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers lets you designate specific areas and ranges of online gaming servers to connect to. You can control in-game lag by limiting the distance of the game servers and players your devices connect to.
With Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers that use DumaOS 2.0, you can use the Geo-Filter feature to prevent connections to gaming servers outside of a circular radius around your location. DumaOS 3.0 routers also include Geo Fencing and Ping Heatmap functionality for the Geo-Filter. The Geo Fencing feature adds the ability to draw custom shapes so that your router connects only to servers within those shapes. Choosing the best servers for your router to connect to might reduce lag and improve your network speeds during your online games.
The Ping Heatmap feature lets you ping your favorite games to see the locations and quality of their servers, with a Ping History dashboard that tracks the ping of your games’ servers over time. You can use this information to set up your Geo-Filter to ensure that you connect only to the fastest servers for your online games.
