How do I change the Internet of things (IoT) WiFi band on my Orbi WiFi 6E System?

The Internet of things (IoT) network name (SSID) is used to connect all of your smart devices like smart lights, smart plugs, and smart speakers. By default this network is set to both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

To change the Internet of things (IoT) WiFi band your Orbi WiFi 6E System:

  1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your Orbi network.
  2. Enter orbilogin.com.
    A login window displays.
  3. Enter the admin user name and password.
    The BASIC Home page displays.
    The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
  4. Select Wireless.
    The Wireless Setup page displays.
  5. In the Wireless IoT Settings section, select one of the following radio bands:
    • 2.4GHz and 5GHz: This is the default selection. Use this if your smart devices require a mix of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections.
    • 2.4GHz only: Use this if you are having issues connecting your smart devices to the IoT SSID.
    • 5GHz only: Use this if all of your smart devices require a 5 GHz connection.
  6. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
