To activate NETGEAR Armor on your router or modem router, you must use the Nighthawk app and your NETGEAR account credentials. If you have an Orbi router or mesh system, see How do I activate NETGEAR Armor on my Orbi router?
Before activating Armor, make sure that your router is running the latest firmware. If you experience activation problems, your firmware might not be up-to-date. For more information about manually updating your firmware, see How do I manually update the firmware on my NETGEAR router?.
To activate NETGEAR Armor using the Nighthawk app:
- Connect your mobile device to your router’s WiFi network.
- Launch the Nighthawk app.
The Dashboard displays. - Tap Security.
- Enter your NETGEAR account credentials and tap the NETGEAR SIGN IN button.
The NETGEAR Armor page displays. - Tap ACTIVATE.
Note: It might take about five seconds to verify your NETGEAR account credentials.
Your free, 30-day trial of NETGEAR Armor is active. - Tap Security from your Nighthawk app dashoard to launch NETGEAR Armor.
