What changes to expect in ReadyNAS OS 6.4.1
In this upgrade, we have made a few changes to the way shares and permissions are handled in the user-interface. For more information regarding these changes, please see our 6.4.1 FAQ on changes to the shares page.
Can I downgrade to 6.4.0 or below? If not, why?
NETGEAR strongly recommends that you always use the latest ReadyNAS firmware.
Note: Upgrading to a major release involves changes that prevent you from using an older version. 6.4 cannot be downgraded to an earlier major firmware. If you are experiencing an issue on ReadyNAS OS 6.4, review our ReadyNAS OS 6: Firmware Upgrade Guide and Tips.
What's new
- SMB clients now see the share quota usage when checking volume usage.
- Shares view on the Admin page has a new layout to provide more information at a glance. See 6.4.1 FAQ on changes to the shares page.
- Added an AFP forced permission setting for new files and folders.
- Added Password Recovery option to reset admin password using the reset button.
- Added SSH configuration option to Allow Shell and Rsync Only access per user.
