Data backup is easy to do with ReadyNAS. Backing up data on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis can protect your important data from unexpected loss. Besides scheduled backups, you can also configure a backup job to run one time (with no schedule). It is essential to backup everything that is important to you, like pictures, videos, music, and documents.
ReadyNAS allows you to backup your computers running Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, and it allows you to backup to other storage mediums, like USB/eSATA drives, NFS servers, or SMB shares. ReadyCLOUD Desktop app lets you sync your PC's folders to your ReadyNAS remotely. ReadyNAS Replicate allows you to create a backup of data between multiple ReadyNAS devices with ease.
ReadyDR, a new feature introduced for Business-class (x86 based) ReadyNAS in OS version 6.6.0, makes a backup of the snapshots on a share or LUN.
ReadyNAS Vault is a cloud backup solution pre-installed or readily available on all ReadyNAS systems as an installable application. Backup anything on your ReadyNAS to secure, offsite servers with no additional hardware to manage. ReadyNAS Vault is an added layer of protection, ideal for achieving geographic redundancy for data stored on your ReadyNAS.
RAID is not a protection if/when you experience a hardware failure. Snapshots, which have the ability to restore data from a specific period of time, do not help if you lose access to your data volume. Snapshots are not a backup.
