First, before you start, make sure you’ve completed the Initial Setup and Access Point Discovery here. After this, you can setup a secure basic network by following the steps below.
To create a basic, secure network:
- Log in to the web interface of the wireless controller.
- Go to the Configuration:Profile:Basic
- Select the band that you want to configure the profile for
- 802.11b/bg/ng for 2.4Ghz
- 802.11a/na for 5Ghz
- Type in a name for the network
- Type in a Wireless Network Name (SSID), this is the name of the network that people will connect to.
- Choose an authentication type, WPA2 is recommended.
- Choose an encryption type, AES is what’s normally used with WPA2, and is the strongest type of encryption.
- Press “Apply”, the SSID will be applied to all the access point in the basic group.
