If your Fios modem router (gateway) doesn’t support bridge mode, turn its WiFi off and set up your NETGEAR or Orbi router in AP mode. To disable the WiFi on your Fios gateway, follow the instructions in Verizon’s Turn Off Wi-Fi Access article.
To get the most out of your NETGEAR or Orbi router, we recommend putting your Fios gateway into bridge mode to access all the features of your NETGEAR device. You can still use your NETGEAR device by turning off the WiFi on your Fios gateway and setting up your NETGEAR router or mesh system in AP mode, but you won’t be able to access all the features of your NETGEAR device.
