The process for connecting an Orbi WiFi System, Nighthawk router, or WiFi range extender to a Starlink router is very similar to connecting them to any other gateway or extender.
For Orbi and Nighthawk routers
- (Recommended) Activate bypass mode on your Starlink router.
This deactivates the Starlink router's WiFi network and makes it function as just a modem. This step is not necessary for your NETGEAR device to work with Starlink, but it might help to avoid potential issues. For more information on bypass mode and how to activate it, see What is bypass mode? on Starlink's support website. - Follow the steps for setting up your NETGEAR device:
- For Orbi WiFi Systems, see Set up an Orbi WiFi System
- For Nighthawk routers, see Setting up and installing your NETGEAR router
The following video demonstrates the process of connecting an Orbi WiFi System to a Starlink Gen 3 router.
For NETGEAR WiFi range extenders
Follow the steps in How do I set up my NETGEAR WiFi range extender?
Starlink routers do not support WPS. Another setup method must be used instead.
