How do I remove a trusted two-factor authentication (2FA) device from my NETGEAR account using the Nighthawk or Orbi app?

You can remove trusted devices used to log in to your NETGEAR account when two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled. If you replace, lose, or no longer have access to a trusted device, we recommend that you remove the device from your NETGEAR account.

To remove a trusted two-factor authentication (2FA) device from your NETGEAR account using the Nighthawk or Orbi app:

  1. Launch the Nighthawk or Orbi app.
    The dashboard displays.
  2. In the top-left corner, tap the Home or Cloud icon. The icon varies depending on your router’s settings.
  3. Tap Account Management > Login Settings > Two-Step Verification > My Trusted Devices.
  4. Locate the device you want to remove and swipe left.
Edit Device Name, Set As Primary, and Remove Device display.
  5. Tap Remove Device.
  6. Tap Remove.
The trusted device is removed from your NETGEAR account.

If you change your mind, you can add the device as a trusted device again. For more information, see How do I add a trusted two-factor authentication (2FA) device to my NETGEAR account using the Nighthawk or Orbi app?
