It is important to set a content level filter for your family member's Smart Parental Controls (SPC) profile to get the most out of your premium subscription. You can set a content level filter after your create your family member's SPC profile. Setting a content level filter ensures that your child only accesses age-appropriate content. For example, the child content level is for kids 12 years and younger. With this content level active, your family member cannot access social media, gambling, or mature content.
Each content level has the following three sections:
- Privacy and Safety: This section displays if Safe Search and YouTube Restricted Mode are active. When Safe Search is active, sexually explicit content is omitted from Google and Bing search results. Other search engines like Yahoo are not supported. When YouTube Restricted Mode is active, YouTube's automatic filter blocks certain videos based on title and language metadata or age restrictions.
- Apps: This section displays apps your child can access. Apps that are not listed are blocked. For example, in the teen content level, your child can access Instagram and Twitter, but cannot access dating apps.
- Categories: This section displays categories of online content that your child can access. Categories that are not listed are blocked. For example, in the child content level, your family member can access content related to the Kids and Online Games categories. Your family member cannot access content related to the chat, forums, and online shopping categories.
