Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers with DumaOS 3.0 include the Traffic Controller feature, which enables you to allow, block, or reject all traffic, particular categories of traffic, specific games, or port ranges. You can set traffic rules for specific devices in your network and schedule certain days and times when your traffic rules are active. You can set up Traffic Controller rules from your router’s web interface.

To set up the Traffic Controller feature on your Nighthawk Pro Gaming router:

  1. Launch a web browser from a computer that is connected to your router’s network.
  2. Visit www.routerlogin.net.
  3. Enter your router’s user name and password.
    The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
    The Dashboard displays.
  4. Select Traffic Controller.
  5. In the Traffic Rules pane, click ADD RULE.
    The Add Rule window opens.
  6. Type a name for your rule.
  7. Decide whether to track events when the rule is applied:
    • To track events: Leave the Event Capture check box selected (it is selected by default).
    • To disable event tracking: Clear the Event Capture check box.
  8. Click NEXT.
  9. Decide what devices to apply the rule to by selecting the All Devices check box or by selecting individual devices from the list.
  10. Click NEXT.
  11. From the Select Target menu, select the type of traffic that the rule applies to:
    • All Traffic: The rule applies to all traffic.
    • Port Range: The rule applies to selected source start and end ports, destination start and end ports, and selected protocols.
    • Application: The rule applies to selected games.
    • Category: The rule applies to selected traffic categories.
  12. Click NEXT.
  13. From the Allow or Block Traffic menu, select one of the following rule actions:
    • Block: Blocks traffic that meets the rule conditions but allows all other traffic. When traffic is blocked, it is dropped without notification to the traffic source. For example, if someone sends you an email message but that traffic is blocked, the sender is not notified.
    • Allow: Allows traffic that meets the rule conditions but blocks all other traffic.
    • Reject: Rejects traffic that meets the rule conditions but allows all other traffic. When traffic is rejected, it is dropped with a notification to the traffic source. Reject actions are only available for rules that apply to all traffic or to a port range; reject actions cannot be set for rules that apply to traffic categories or specific games.
  14. To specify that the rule must apply to specific days and times, do the following:
    1. Days: Select or clear the check boxes for individual days on which the rule must be active.
    2. Times: In the AM circle, PM circle, or both, click the hours that the rule must be active. If you click an hour segment (for example, the 9-to-10 segment), the color changes. To reset the times, click the Toggle All button under the AM circle or PM circle.
      By default, the rule applies continuously.
  15. Click DONE.
    The rule is added to the Traffic Rules table.
  16. Repeat steps 5-15 until all of your rules are configured.
  17. (Optional) To change the application order of your rules, click and drag rules to reorder them in the list.
    Your settings are saved.
