The Connection Benchmark feature on Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers with DumaOS 3.0 enables you to test the upload speeds, download speeds, and Internet connection quality of your network. You can use these tests to determine if your network is performing optimally and if you are getting the Internet speeds that you pay for. You can also see how your network performs under load.
Due to the anti-buffer bloat features included in DumaOS, your Nighthawk Pro Gaming router might not deliver top scores on some Internet speed test websites even when it is functioning optimally. From your router’s web interface, you can run Connection Benchmark tests. You can also schedule tests for a future date or set up recurring tests if you want to track your connection quality over a period of time.
To use the Connection Benchmark feature on your Nighthawk Pro Gaming router:
- Launch a web browser from a computer that is connected to your router’s network.
- Visit www.routerlogin.net.
- Enter your router’s user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The Dashboard displays. - Select Connection Benchmark > RUN TEST.
Your router runs the following tests:- Speed Test: Tests your download, upload, and Netflix speeds.
- Ping Test: Tests the quality of your Internet connection by measuring the base ping, jitter, and packet loss of your line. Base ping is the response time of your network. Jitter occurs when packets of data reach their destination out of order. Packet loss occurs when packets of data don’t reach their intended destination. This information indicates if your network is functioning optimally.
- Ping Test (Under Load): Tests how your connection performs under load. This test temporarily congests your network and measures your download and upload speeds, then compares the results to your idle network speeds.
To schedule Connection Benchmark tests:
- From the Connection Benchmark page, click Scheduled Tests.
The Scheduled Tests pane displays. - Click SCHEDULE TEST.
The Add Scheduled Test window opens. - From the upper menu, select One Time or Recurring.
- If you selected One Time, enter the desired time and date in the lower menu. If you selected Recurring, enter the desired frequency in the lower menu, or click Custom to set up a custom schedule.
- To run scheduled tests regardless of current Internet usage, leave the Allow Test While Internet Is In Use check box selected. To delay tests until your Internet connection is idle, clear the check box.
The check box is selected by default. - Click ADD.
The test is scheduled.
