The memory test boots up a small operating system with the sole purpose of testing the memory. It goes through a few stages of writes and reads. It first writes some data to the Memory(RAM) and then reads it back. Matching results indicate properly working RAM.
For the OS6 units with LCD (RN104, RN314, RN316, RN516) screens, the Memory test output displays on the LCD, and the tests are self-explanatory.
For the OS6 units without LCD (RN102, RN312, RN2120), the Memory Test results show as LED patterns.
