The NETGEAR Premium Business 802.11ac 4 x 4 Wave 2 Wireless Access Point delivers high performance with maximum client density for enterprises requiring ubiquitous and reliable wireless for all business applications.
The WAC740 is a controller-managed access point that makes centralized management easy with several NETGEAR wireless controllers from small (WC7500) to mid-size (WC7600) and large (WC9500) deployments.
Note: The following older NETGEAR controllers do not support the management of the WAC740: WC7520, WMS5316, WFS709TP. If you have one of these older controllers and are interested in using the WAC740, NETGEAR recommends that you work with your NETGEAR account representatives to upgrade to the current controller family: WC7500, WC7600 (v1 or v2), or WC9500.
The WAC740 operates with Multi-User MIMO and can achieve speeds up to 600 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 1.7 Gbps for 5 GHz.
The WAC740 has two Ethernet ports, including one port that can handle up to 2.5 Gbps of throughput, enabling a single wire to connect to a 2.5 Gbps-capable switch for ease of wiring installation.
The WAC740 uses Power over Ethernet plus (PoE+), enabling easy deployment when connected to an 802.3at-capable PoE+ switch port.
