You can manually update your WAC104's firmware by checking for firmware updates through the local browser user interface or by downloading your firmware from NETGEARs support page.
To manually update the firmware on your WAC104 access point from the NETGEARs support page:
1. Download the latest firmware version.
2. Connect your computer to the same network as the access point or connect your computer to the access point through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
3. Launch a web browser.
4. Enter your access point's IP address.
A login window displays
5. Enter the user name and password.
Note: The user name is admin.
6. Select Administration > Firmware Upgrade.
7. Click Choose File and browse to the location of the access point firmware image that you downloaded.
8. Click Upload.
Note: While the firmware is uploading, do not close the web browser window, click a link, or load a new page. If the browser is interrupted, the upload might fail.
The process can take 8 minutes and the access point reboots during the firmware update.
During the firmware update process, all connected wireless clients are disconnected.
After your access point finishes rebooting, the Power LED is solid green.
9. After the access point reboots, check that the firmware is successfully updatedby going to Administration Status.
The new firmware version displays in the Information section.
To check for new firmware and updates through the local browser user interface:
1. Connect your computer to the same network as the access point or connect your computer to the access point through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
2. Open a web browser.
3. Enter your access point's IP address.
4. Enter the user name and password.
5. Select Administration Firmware Update.
6. Click the Check button.
7. If a newer firmware version is available it will display.
8. If there is a newer firmware, click the Yes button.
9. Proceed to download and install the firmware.
