If you are experiencing problems with your NETGEAR router, you might want to reboot it. Sometimes a reboot is all that’s needed to resolve basic connectivity issues. All of your WiFi settings are saved when you reboot your router.
This article describes how to reboot your router from the router web interface. You might want to use this method if your router is difficult to access or if you cannot use the Nighthawk app. For more information about rebooting the router with the Power button or Nighthawk app, see How do I power cycle or reboot my NETGEAR router?
To reboot your NETGEAR router using the router web interface:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router’s network.
- Enter www.routerlogin.net.
A login window displays.
Note: If you have trouble accessing your router, see I can’t access my router; what do I do? - Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.

The BASIC Home page or Dashboard displays. - Click or tap Advanced > Reboot.
For Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers, click or tap the three dots in the top right corner, and select Reboot. - Wait for the router to complete the reboot process.
