XS728T is NETGEAR’s new 10 Gigabit smart switch. It supports 24 10G copper ports and 4 dedicated 10G fiber ports. This release notes contains known issues and limitations for this production firmware.
XS728T supports the latest Smart Control Center, please use SCC version 1.1.3.3 for switch discovery, basic configuration and FW upgrades.
New Features and Enhancements:
- This firmware supports new and current version of IC (PHY) used by XS728T.
Known Issues:
- ‘Destination MAC’ and ‘Destination MAC Mask’ are mandatory when creating a MAC ACL rule.
[Workaround]: Configure DST MAC with masks of all FF - this is the same as not filling in DST MAC at all. - Static routes cannot be deleted if not active.
[Workaround]: Once route is active, it can be deleted. - Registration page displays again, 20 minutes after logging into the GUI.
[Workaround]: Close registration window right after connecting to device via GUI; or register the device correctly. - GUI freezes when session is timeout by HTTPS using IE11.0
[Workaround]: use other browsers, or refresh the whole page after timeout. - [Static ARP/Route] L3 traffic cannot fully pass when configuring static ARP with static route.
[Workaround]: Learn MAC on device before static ARP; create Static routes after static ARP entry (and if already created - remove and then create static routes again). - If the connecting partner device is 1000M, port speed on partner device would show up as 10Mbps after disabling the port on XS728T.
[Workaround]: Unplug the cable.
Notes:
- On board running 6.5.0.23, it may take up to 5 minutes on the first boot after the image upgrades to 6.5.0.25.
- The released zip contains switch firmware (.bin), boot files and MIB files. User needs to unzip it to retrieve the switch image itself for upgrade.
Limitations :
- Syslog servers can only be added with mode of IPv4 address; DNS and IPv6 mode of syslog sever are not supported
- Cable test is effective for copper ports linked up as 10G, using Cat5 cables
- The USB device must support the FAT32 file type. The NTFS file type is NOT supported
