SNMP is enabled by default on the access point, however additional configuration is required in order to use it.
SNMP settings are in the web management at Maintenance - Remote Management - SNMP
Configurable options:
a. SNMP is Enabled by default, it can be either Enabled or Disabled by selecting the corresponding radio button.
b. Ready-Only Community Name: This allows the SNMP browser or application to read the access points Management Information Base (MIB). By default this is public.
c. Read-Write Community Name: This allows the SNMP browser or application to read and write the access points MIB. By default this is private.
d. Trap Community Name: This allows the SNMP browser or application to send traps to the access point. By default this is trap.
e. IP Address to Receive Traps: The IP address of the device where the SNMP browser or application is running.
f. Trap Port: The port number the SNMP browser or application uses to receive traps sent from the access point. By default this is 162.
SNMP can be used for device monitoring and assists in fault management. It can also be used to apply certain configurations, here we see an example of changing a Wireless Security Profile setting to enable a disabled Wireless Security Profile.

1. Navigate to the web management and go to Maintenance - Remote Management - SNMP.
2. Configure the SNMP settings as desired, here we use the settings configured below, and click Apply.
3. In your SNMP application go to Advanced and configure the settings to match what is configured in the access point SNMP settings.
4. Browse to the Security Profile Settings in the MIB tree.
By default only the first Security Profile on the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios are enabled.
6. Change the Value to 1 (enable), click Ok.
7. The second Security Profile is enabled in the access point web management.
