Encrypting the information that you send over your Powerline adapter’s network helps keeps it secure.
To set the encryption key for your Powerline network using the Powerline Utility:
1. Launch the Powerline Utility by clicking the icon on your desktop.
2. Click the Powerline device icon or the Security icon on the Powerline Utility main screen.
A pop-up menu displays.
3. Click Security.
A list of devices displays.
4. Select the box for each device name that you want to protect with an encryption key.
5. For Step 2 on the pop-up menu, choose one of the following options:
• Use default Encryption Key: The factory default encryption key is automatically populated in the field. The default network encryption key is HomePlugAV.
• Create a new Encryption Key: This option enables you to set your own network encryption key. Enter your network encryption key in the field.
6. Click Apply Security to Selected Devices.
A confirmation message displays.
7. Click OK.
