NETGEAR is aware of an issue in ReadyNAS OS 6.4 where the antivirus service might affect the SMB performance of the ReadyNAS system.
This issue is resolved in ReadyNAS OS 6.5. To download the latest version of ReadyNAS OS for your system, see ReadyNAS OS 6: Updating Firmware.
If your ReadyNAS storage system is still running ReadyNAS OS 6.4, you can follow the instructions below to download the updated packages for your ReadyNAS system.
As of 6/24/2016, updated versions of the ctscand packages are now available. These updated packages improve SMB performance.
To update the antivirus service in ReadyNAS OS 6.4:
- Download the appropriate two packages for your ReadyNAS to your computer.
- For a ReadyNAS 102, 104, 202, 204, 212, 214, 2120, or 2120 v2:
ctavbase_5.4.22-1_armel.deb
ctscand_3.9-2_armel.deb - For a ReadyNAS 312, 314, 316, 516, 716x, 3130, 3138, 3220, or 4220:
ctavbase_5.4.22-1_amd64.deb
ctscand_3.9-2_amd64.deb
- For a ReadyNAS 102, 104, 202, 204, 212, 214, 2120, or 2120 v2:
- Log in to the ReadyNAS Admin Page.
- Select System > Settings > Services and disable the antivirus service.
- Select Apps and click the Upload button.
The Install Application window opens. - Browse to the downloaded ctavbase_5.4.22-1_xxxxx.deb file and click Upload.
"Application ctavbase_5.4.22-1_xxxxx.deb is installed successfully" displays. - Click Upload again.
The Install Application window opens. - Browse to the downloaded ctscand_3.9-2_xxxxx.deb file and click Upload.
"Application ctscand_3.9-2_xxxxx.deb is installed successfully" displays. - Select System > Settings > Services and enable the antivirus service.
