NETGEAR is aware of the industry-wide potential security issue due to the use of GNU C Library (glibc) that was revealed on Feb. 16, 2016.
Because NETGEAR is committed to customer security, we are reviewing every product to determine if the code is present and creates a potential vulnerability. If the audit reveals any concerns, we will provide recommendations.
As of March 23, 2016, we have confirmed that these products are not vulnerable:
- 11ac access points
- AirCard products
- Arlo base station
- Arlo Q camera
- Cable gateways
- DSL gateways
- Extenders
- Powerline
- ReadyNAS devices running RAIDiator 4.1 and 4.2
- Routers
- Security firewalls and VPN software
- Switches
We appreciate and value having security concerns brought to our attention. NETGEAR constantly monitors for both known and unknown threats. Being pro-active rather than re-active to emerging security issues is fundamental for product support at NETGEAR.
It is NETGEAR's mission to be the innovative leader in connecting the world to the internet. To achieve this mission, we strive to earn and maintain the trust of those that use NETGEAR products for their connectivity.
