NETGEAR is aware of an issue when using ReadyCLOUD to upload files on the same network as a ReadyNAS or Nighthawk using the Microsoft Edge browser.

Not what you're looking for? Return to the ReadyCLOUD FAQ.

You may run into this issue under the following circumstances:

  • You are using ReadyCLOUD to access your ReadyNAS or Nighthawk router.
  • You are trying to upload files via ReadyCLOUD without success.
  • You are using Microsoft Edge browser version 25 or newer.

Cause:

Microsoft Edge browser blocks internet sites accessing local network resources. When you are local to your ReadyNAS or Nighthawk that is joined to ReadyCLOUD, Edge will not permit you to upload files using the web browser.

Workarounds

  • If you desire to use ReadyCLOUD to upload files locally, rather than directly with your ReadyNAS or Nighthawk, some customers have reported that the behavior expected works when changing your Windows network connection from a private location (work or home) to a public location.
  • On the local network, connect directly to your ReadyNAS or Nighthawk using Windows Explorer instead of using the ReadyCLOUD website to send files.
  • Use the ReadyCLOUD desktop app.
  • Use another supported browser.
