By default, your NETGEAR router’s WiFi transmit power is set to 100% to provide as much wireless coverage as possible. If you want to save power and don’t need the maximum WiFi coverage that your router is capable of, you can lower the WiFi transmit power of your router.

To adjust the WiFi transmit power of your NETGEAR router:

  1. Launch a web browser from a device that is connected to your router's network.
  2. Enter www.routerlogin.net.
    A login window displays.
  3. Enter your user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
  4. The BASIC Home page or Dashboard displays.
  5. Select Wireless.
For Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers, select Settings > Wireless Setup.
  6. Adjust the Transmit Power Control setting for each WiFi band.
By default, Transmit Power Control is set to 100%. You can adjust the setting in 25% increments.
  7. Click or tap Apply.
    Your settings are saved.
