Overview of Egnyte Storage Sync
Storage Sync bi-directionally syncs customers’ local storage systems with the cloud. Files can be replicated across offices and diverse storage systems for cross-office file sharing and data redundancy. The solution can be deployed alongside multiple, dissimilar storage devices in any location and becomes a must-have for distributed teams that need to collaborate on large files, especially in areas of low bandwidth.
Common use case: A large construction company sets up a trailer on a work site, which provides limited bandwidth for these teams. Instead of printing large CAD drawings and designs, users can work on these files, make changes and save them on a NETGEAR box deployed at the work site. After business hours or when convenient to saves these large files to the cloud to not create bandwidth issues during peak work hours, admins can sync the files to the cloud so the files can be accessed from any location.
Egnyte Storage Sync for NETGEAR
Storage Sync for NETGEAR is an easy-to-install software that can be downloaded and installed from the Netgear marketplace or from Egnyte’s download portal. Once the software is installed, administrators can create a CIFS share on the local system and associate the share with the Egnyte cloud. Local users can subsequently create, update and modify files and folders on this share and have it synced with the cloud. Alternatively, cloud users can also perform such file and folder operations on the cloud store and have it synced to the local storage system.
