If you have a WAN service that changes your Public IP, and you're also using Cloud services (ReadyNAS or ReadyDATA Replicate, ReadyCLOUD, ReadyNAS Remote), this information will be useful.
A change in IP Address disconnects any active session on the TCP/UDP level & IP level. Service providers take that into consideration and generally do not change IP addresses during active sessions; however, if the service provider does change the IP during active sessions, most Cloud connections will reconnect automatically. some limitations apply.
- ReadyCLOUD and ReadyNAS Remote apps on Mac/Windows/mobile will reconnect.
- ReadyNAS Replicate initiated connections do not reconnect upon disconnection
- ReadyDATA Replicate initiated connections will be able to recover from temporary network disconnections (such as WAN IP changes). If the connection is over Leaf network adapter, and the connection is lost, the ReadyDATA saves the data buffer while it tries to reconnect to Leaf networks and reconnects to the ReadyDATA on the other side of the Leaf tunnel.
