Will the top of the Powerline 1200 block the ground terminal of the upper outlet of a wall socket if plugged into the lower one?

When plugged into a the lower terminal of vertical two socket wall outlet, the PLP1200 may interfere with some, larger plugs. However, almost all 2 prong plugs and many 3 prong plugs will still fit.

Can I disable the standby mode on PL1200?

You cannot disable standby mode (sleep mode).  There are no plans add this feature at this time.

If in a house we have more than one fuse, will this powerline still be able to work?

Yes, it will work.

What is the power consumption of the PL1200?

The power consumption of PL1200 is 1.93W when the ethernet cable is connected , 0.49W standby mode (Ethernet cable disconnected or Ethernet link lost).

Is PL1200 compatible to HomePlug 1.0?

No, PL1200 is not compatible with HomePlug 1.0. It is only compatible with HomePlug AV2.0 but can co-exist with HomePlug 1.0 and is backwards compatible to HomePlug AV1.0.

How do you set the PL1200 to its factory default settings?

The user can either press the Reset button for 1 second or click the “Factory Reset” button on the Coming NETGEAR genie Release.

No, the QoS on the router is for Internet traffic, not layer 2 QoS in LAN side by the powerline devices.

Why shouldn't I use a power strip, surge protector, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) or extension cord with the PL1200?

Power strip, surge protectors, UPS and extension cords filter out some or the entire high frequency signal used in powerline communications. Connecting a PL1200 to one of these devices can greatly reduce the data rate of transfers or even block communications entirely.

When buying a PL1200, do we need to have a wireless router or will it work even with Ethernet/wired type of router?

The PL1200 powerline adapter needs a wireless router to provide IP addresses to the devices. The powerline will also work with a wired or wireless type of router.

Does the PL1200 support Standby mode for power saving?

Yes, the PL1200 does support Standby mode for power saving. When the Ethernet link is lost for more than 10 minutes, the adapter enters power saving mode.
