ReadyNAS OS 6's built-in anti-virus system can scan files ReadyNAS shares. This offers protection against malware, such as viruses and trojans, which could be stored in shared unknowingly.
The anti-virus system on the ReadyNAS cannot scan files inside an iSCSI LUN, because iSCSI operates at a block level and not a file level.
If you use your ReadyNAS for iSCSI, NETGEAR recommends that for the best possible performance, you disable anti-virus.
