The GS105PE is a PoE passthrough switch which can only be powered by Power Over Ethernet (does not accept AC power).
GS105PE can be powered by either IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at from either a PoE switch or a PoE injector.
When powered by IEEE 802.3af:
The GS105PE can power up only one Class 1/2 PoE device.
When powered by IEEE 802.3at:
The GS105PE can power up only one Class 0/3 PoE device or two class 1/2 devices.
Note on 802.3at interop issues with certain Cisco switches: Interop problems have been identified when the GS105PE is powered by some Cisco PoE+ switches. Certain Cisco switches (such as the 3560CG-8-PD) are pre-standard 802.3at and do not fully meet the 802.3at standard. Other Cisco switches (such as the Catalyst 2960S) have also been found to be not fully compatible and Cisco has a bug open for this.
PoE classes
Look at the power consumption in the documentation to determine the PoE class.
On some PoE devices, you may not find information regarding the PoE class of the product.
The PoE classes are programmed into the chips of the devices, so this cannot be modified by a firmware upgrade.
For example:
A WN203 has a power consumption of 4.0W.
Taking a look at PoE classes:

In theory, WN203 should be a class 2 PoE device.
Many PoE devices don’t have any specific class defined, and these devices are generally classified as a class 0 device.
Some NETGEAR switches can check the PoE class. By connecting a WN203 to a GS110TP, the WN203 reports as a class 0 device.
Even if the WN203 has a power consumption corresponding to a class 2, it is a class 0 device, so it cannot be powered on when the GS105PE is powered by an 802.3af switch or injector.
