The GS516TP, GS728TP, GS728TPP, and GS752TP smart switches differ in hardware from other smart switches.
On these models, jumbo frames function differently than on other smart switch models:
- You can enable jumbo frames globally only, not per port.
- By default, jumbo frames are disabled and the switch supports a packet size of up to 2,048 bytes. Other switch models support a packet size of up to 1,518 bytes when Jumbo frames are disabled.
- When you enable jumbo frames, you cannot configure the maximum frame size, which is set at 9,216 bytes.
- When you enable jumbo frames, you must reboot the switch for Jumbo frames to be activated.
