To enable dynamic VLAN assignment for selected ports on a GS728TP, GS728TPP, GS752TP, or GS516TP smart switch:
- Open a web browser.
- In the browser address field, type the IP address of the smart switch.
The default IP address is 192.168.0.239 and the default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
You are prompted to enter your password.
- Type the password in the Password field.
The default password is password. Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Click the Login button.
After the system authenticates you, the System Information screen displays.
- Select Routing > IP > IP Authentication.
- Next to Routing Mode, select the Disable radio button.
- After click Apply button.
The mode changes from routing mode to switching mode and the switch reboots.
- After the reboot process is finished, log in to the switch management interface.
- Configure users, passwords, and VLAN assignments on a RADIUS server, configure the RADIUS sever on the smart switch, and enable 802.1X globally on the smart switch.
- Select Security > Port Authentication > Advanced > Port Authentication.
- Select the check boxes for the ports on which you want to enable dynamic VLAN assignment.
- From the Dynamic VLAN Assignment menu, select Enable.
- Click the Apply button.
VLANs are now dynamically assigned for the ports that you selected.
