Your NETGEAR Nighthawk router has LED lights that show the status of the router’s Internet, WiFi, local area network (LAN), and USB connections. For more information, see What are the LEDs and ports on the front panel of my Nighthawk router called?
By default, the status LED lights are set up to flash when there’s data activity. If you want to turn off flashing or turn off the status LEDs completely, you can do so from the router web interface.
To disable or enable the status LED lights on your NETGEAR Nighthawk router:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router’s network.
- Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window opens. - Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays. - Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > LED Control Settings.
The LED Control Settings page displays. - Select your desired LED light setting:
- Enable blinking on Internet LED, LAN LED, Wireless LED and USB LED when data traffic is detected is the default setting, which sets the status LEDs to flash when your router detects data activity.
- Disable blinking on Internet LED, LAN LED, Wireless LED and USB LED when data traffic is detected sets the status LEDs to remain solid on without flashing.
- Turn off all LEDs except Power LED disables all LEDs except the Power LED.
- Click or tap the Apply button.
Your LED light settings are saved.
