Home folders allow each user to have a private folder matching his or her account name. Home folders can be made available over SMB, AFP, NFS and FTP protocols. SMB, AFP and NFS are enabled by default.
To configure home folders:
- Go to Shares > Shares.
- Click on the settings icon beside Home Folders and choose Settings from the drop down menu.
- In the pop-up window that appears, go to the Access tab.
- Under the tab for the required protocol, set the toggle button to On or Off as needed.
Note: A user's home folder will only be created when that user accesses the ReadyNAS for the first time using his or her account.
