On some NETGEAR switches (see the list at the bottom of this article), VLAN Membership and LAG Membership screens do not display the section where ports are added to a VLAN or LAG with the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 10
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Firefox 27
  • Chrome 33

Note: These were the latest browser versions at the time of testing, March 10, 2014. Changing firmware, or browser settings does not resolve this issue. NETGEAR conducted testing with switches running the latest version of firmware and using up-to-date browsers. The following image shows an example of an incorrect VLAN Membership screen:

If you experience this problem, use one of the following older browsers (links below are links to 3rd party websites and were working at the time this article was published):

  • Opera 18(32-bit and 64-bit): download here
  • Netscape Navigator 9: download here
  • Firefox Portable 3.5.6: download here

NETGEAR recommends using these browsers only if you are using a switch that is experiencing the VLAN Membership and LAG Membership screen display problem. Because these browsers are outdated, they might have some security vulnerabilities, so use these browsers at your own risk.

Note:

  • GS748Tv4. Only Opera 18 displays the VLAN and LAG membership screens correctly
  • FS728TPv1.Only Netscape displays the VLAN and LAG membership screens correctly
