ReadyDATA RD5200/RDD516 Firmware Version 1.3.0

New features and enhancements:

Support for ReadyDATA 516, the industry's most feature-rich unified (NAS/SAN) desktop storage device.
- ReadyDATA 516 makes block-level replication, unlimited snapshots and deduplication available and easy to deploy in a businesses of any size.
- Enables edge-to-core data protection with cloud-managed replication and central management of data.
Block size can be configured when creating a new iSCSI LUN
- Default block size has been changed to 64K for better performance in virtualized environments.
Up to 200 simultaneous AFP connections are now supported
- Previous limit was 50 connections.

Major bug fixes:

Issue that caused thick LUNs to be displayed in Dashboard (management UI) as thin LUNs when snapshots were enabled has been corrected.
Handling of cold and hot capacity expansion has been improved.
Issue that caused Windows error 0x800700FF when upgrading ReadyDATA OS has been corrected.

Deployment Notes / Limitations:

For all ReadyDATA models.
- It is necessary to disable VAAI when using vSphere4 or vSphere5 with iSCSI.
- All system settings are volatile until the first volume is created.
- Deduplication for thick LUNs has been removed as capacity savings are not realized on the ReadyDATA device or by the host.
- File and Folder permissions take precedence over Automatic Permissions on a per share or LUN basis
- - The Automatic Permissions fields display previously configured permissions, but new changes to the settings will not be enforced.
For ReadyDATA 516.
- The selector wheel on the front panel is used to choose boot menu options.
- - Once the unit has booted, the selector wheel is disabled
- eSATA ports are disabled and capacity expansion beyond six bays is not supported.
- The unit's IP Address will not be displayed on the LCD when in Technical Support mode.
- A USB flash recovery tool is not currently available
