To create a LUN group:
- Go to the iSCSI tab.
- Click the New Group button.
- The New LUN Group window appears
- Enter a name for the LUN Group.
- Click Create.
To add a LUN to a LUN group:
- Go to the iSCSI tab.
- Click on the LUN and then click Assign. If you do not have a LUN created, see the How do I create a LUN on my ReadyNAS OS 6 storage system? article.
The Select LUN Group window appears. - Choose the required LUN Group from the drop down list and click Apply.
To configure client access to a LUN group:
1. Go to the iSCSI tab.
2. Click the Properties button to the right of the LUN group that you want to manage.
A pop-up screen displays.
3. Configure the settings as explained in the following table:

The name is provided for information only and cannot be changed. |

Target |
The target is the address that an iSCSI client (that is, an initiator) needs to access the LUN group. The default target name is usually fine to use but you can delete the content and then replace it with a custom target address. |

Require initiators to identify themselves using CHAP |
Select this check box to enable CHAP authentication and to allow only authenticated initiators access to the LUN group. By default, access to the LUN group is open to the initiators that you add to list of initiators. |

Password for bidirectional CHAP authentication |
By default, access by an initiator to a LUN in the LUN group is open. To require authentication before allowing access, set a password for bidirectional CHAP authentication. |

Enter a CHAP password with a length of at least 12 characters. Maximum length is 16 characters. |

Confirm Password |
Confirm the CHAP password. |

4. Click the Apply button.
The new LUN group properties take effect immediately.
