For the ReadyNAS to timestamp files and logs accordingly, ensure that the time and date settings are accurate. ReadyNAS OS 6 allows you to sync to an NTP server (internet time server) or keep track of time locally.
To set system time and date:
- Login to the Admin Page
- From System > Overview, click the gear icon to the right of Device Time.
The Date and Time screen displays. - To switch from 12-hour time format to 24-hour time format, check the Use 24-hour format checkbox.
- To change the date format, drop down the Date format list and select an available option.
- Set the time zone from the Time Zone drop-down list to your device's current timezone.
- Select the correct date and time by doing one of the following:
- Select the Synchronize clock with an Internet server check box. When you select this check box, the calendar and time drop-down lists dim, and the system's date and time are synchronized with a NTP server. By default, this points to a NETGEAR NTP time server.
When using Active Directory, use your Active Directory server as the NTP server. - Clear the Synchronize clock with an Internet server check box and use the calendar and time controls to set the date and time manually.
- Select the Synchronize clock with an Internet server check box. When you select this check box, the calendar and time drop-down lists dim, and the system's date and time are synchronized with a NTP server. By default, this points to a NETGEAR NTP time server.
- Click the Apply button.
Your changes are saved.
