Symptoms
- unable to determine the firmware version number on the CMD31T
- not sure if the CMD31T supports my service
Resolution
Depending on the FW version of the CMD31T, your internet provider might not be supported. Please check below.
FW/Software version
- V502A supports Charter, and Cablevision.
- V504B supports Time Warner Cable.
- V504F supports Charter, Cablevision, Cox, and other MSOs*.
How to locate the FW/Software version number:
- Please open a web browser and go to http://192.168.100.1. Login is "admin" and password is "password".
- On the left side under Maintenance, select Modem Status.
- The firmware version is located next to Software Version.
*Please note that other MSOs or Service providers that support CableLabs® DOCSIS® 3.0 certified cable modems and gateways should work with the CMD31T, however, NETGEAR might not be able to provide technical support for them. The NETGEAR CMD31T is compatible with U.S. Cable Internet Providers like Cablevision, Charter®, Cox®, Time Warner Cable® & more – please contact your cable operator for more details – ask if they support CableLabs® DOCSIS® 3.0 certified cable modems and gateways.
