Some NETGEAR Managed and Smart switches support licensed features that add functionality to the device. When you purchase a software license, the seller sends you an email with a license key. If you have not received an email with the license key, contact the seller.
You must register your product before activating a license key. For more information on registering a product, see How do I register a product on MyNETGEAR?.
To get your license file:
- Log in to MyNETGEAR.
- Enter your account Email Address and Password.
If you do not have a MyNETGEAR account, see How do I create a MyNETGEAR account?. - Click NETGEAR Sign In.
- In the My Products list, select a product for license key activation.
- Click Activate License Key.
- Enter the license key and click Activate.
- Click Download for the license file.
The license file downloads. The file name is <Model Name>-<Serial Number>.lic.
To activate the license:
- Log in to the admin interface for your switch.
- Select Maintenance > Download > HTTP File Download.
- Select License key from the File Type menu.
- Navigate to the license file download location.
- Select the license file and click Apply.
The license is activated.
To confirm license activation:
- Navigate to Maintenance > Reset > Device Reboot.
- Click Apply.
The device reboots. This might take several minutes. - Log in to the admin interface for your switch.
- Navigate to System > License > License Key.
- Check that License Status is Active.
