What is JGS524E?
This is a 24-port Gigabit switch. It belongs to the new “ProSAFE Plus Switches” family.
What is a ProSAFE plus switch?
It’s an upgrade to unmanaged switch which can only Plug-N-Play, and is not configurable. ProSAFE Plus switch gives user the flexibility to configure certain static layer 2 settings to better fit their needs.
What are the configurable features of ProSAFE plus switch?
User can configure Port Mirroring, VLAN, QoS, Rate Limit, IGMP Snooping, and Broadcast Storm Filtering.
How can I configure JGS524E?
There is a configuration utility in the resource CD that comes with the device. You must install it on a window-based PC.
Does JGS524E support flow control?
Yes, JGS524E supports Flow Control and they are enabled by default.
Does JGS524E support port auto negotiation?
Yes, JGS524E supports port auto negotiation for speed and duplex mode.
How do I know if there is a loop with the connection?
JGS524E supports loop detection. When a loop is detected, the left LED on the affected port will blink at a constant speed with roughly 1 every second.
What is auto DoS (Denial-of-Service) prevention?
DoS is a form of attack on computer network resources. The Auto DoS feature of JGS524E would automatically block malicious packets such as source IP equals destination IP.
What is the purpose of factory defaults button?
This button is for user to reset all of the settings back to factory defaults.
What is the default password?
The default password is “password”.
What if I lost my password?
The password can be restored with the Factory defaults button. However, it would reset all configurations as well.
