What is Wireless-N?

Wireless-N draft 802.11n version 2.0: The 802.11n standard will be the next generation of high-speed Wi-Fi, capable of delivering the range and capacity to support today's most bandwidth-hungry applications, like streaming HD (High Definition) video, voice and music. The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) Task Group-N committee is still working to finalize the standard.  It is currently expected to be ratified in July of 2009.  In the mean time, the WiFi Consortium is certifying Wireless-N products against the draft 2.0 revision of the standards.   This creates a de-facto standard in the market that users can take advantage of.  NETGEAR Wireless-N products are all WiFi certified.

What is the difference between WN802Tv1 and WN802T-200?

WN802T-200 has reduced the size of the access point and changed the color of the case from white to black.  The features provided are the same, but there is an improved user interface (GUI) for cleaner navigation of the features.

Is the WN802T-200
compatible with legacy 802.11b and 802.11g?

Yes, the WN802T-200 is compatible with 11b and 11g. It can simultaneously support 802.11b, 802.11g, and draft 802.11n clients.

The wireless performance seems to slow down when there are legacy 802.l1b/g clients.  Is there anything I can do?

When this happens, please go to Advanced -> Wireless Settings and select “11 b/g/n Mixed mode”. This will provide the best overall performance when there are both b/g and n clients on the network.  Note while b/g clients should see better performance, that n clients will see lower performance than if the AP was configured for a pure 11n network.

Where are the antennas of WN802T-200?

There are three internal antennas inside the case of WN802T-200. The fixed orientations of the antennas are designed to give the optimal performance. There is no need to fiddle with external antennas for better reception and transmission.

Does WN802T-200
support WDS?

Yes, WDS is supported in this release.

If I forget the password, how can it be recovered?

You have to reset the WN802T-200 back to factory settings and login using the default login name and password, which are “admin” and “password”

How to reset the system back to the factory default settings?

The rear reset button can be used to restore WN802T-200 back to factory defaults. Use a small pin to press the reset button in and hold it in until the power LED changed from blinking green to amber.

What is different LED light status mean?

The LEDs from top to bottom represent the status of Power/System, Ethernet, and Wireless.
