Issue
A small number of GS305EP, GS305EPP, GS308EP, GS308EPP, GS316EP, and GS316EPP switches sold in Europe and the UK were shipped with the wrong power cord. Some units received a UK-style power cord (3 flat pins) in place of the EU/continental Europe cord (2 round pins), and some UK units received the reverse.
The switch and its external power adapter are not affected, only the C13 mains power cord supplied in the box is incorrect.
How to identify the wrong cord
- EU models (-100PES) should be supplied with a cord that has 2 round pins.
- UK models (-100UKS) should be supplied with a cord that has 3 flat rectangular pins.
If your -100PES switch came with a UK 3-pin flat cord, or your -100UKS switch came with a 2-pin round cord, your unit is affected.
The power adapter and the switch are not faulty. The C13 connector at the adapter end of the cord is the same on both cord types, only the mains plug is different.
What to do
