This article describes how to establish a 10G link on a NETGEAR PR60X / PR460X SFP+ port with longer DAC cables.
This article applies to:
- PR60X - 10G/Multi-Gigabit Dual WAN Pro Router with Insight Cloud Management.
- PR460X - 10G/Multi-Gigabit Dual WAN Pro Router with Insight Cloud Management.
Some longer DAC cables, such as 3-meter AXC763, have a weaker signal at the receiver. The Pro Router SFP+ port might not establish a link with these cables at a 10G speed. Alternatively, you can use 1-meter AXC761 cable or fiber modules. If you need a longer DAC cable and it does not link at 10G, change the LAN4 port Rx Compensation mode from Default to Enhanced.
To enable the Enhanced option, log in to your PR60X/PR460X using the device UI:
- Select LAN > Port Settings.
The Port Settings page displays. - From the LAN4 port Rx Compensation menu, select Enhanced.
- Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
