Your Nighthawk mobile hotspot comes with a default WiFi network name and password which can be found on your mobile hotspot’s screen. If your mobile hotspot is reset to factory settings its WiFi network name and password are reset to these default settings. These credentials can be easily changed in the NETGEAR app.
To change the network name and password on your mobile hotspot:
- Connect to your mobile hotspot’s WiFi network with a mobile device.
- Launch the NETGEAR app and log into your NETGEAR account.
The NETGEAR app dashboard displays. - Select your mobile hotspot.
The hotspot’s dashboard displays. - Tap the Settings icon at the bottom right.
- Tap Wi-Fi Settings.
- Enter a new network name and password into their respective entry fields.
Take note of these credentials. - (Optional) Scroll to the bottom of the page and clear the Display info on LCD check box.
This removes the WiFi network name and password from your hotspot’s screen. - Tap Apply.
A confirmation displays. - Tap Continue.
You must add the new WiFi network credentials to all the devices previously connected to your mobile hotspot, including the mobile device you used to change them.
Your hotspot restarts its WiFi network. This can take a couple of minutes.
Your Nighthawk mobile hotspot’s WiFi network name and password are changed.
