If you have an older NETGEAR router, one reason why Anywhere Access has stopped working is because your router uses an outdated Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.
At NETGEAR, we are committed to enhancing the security and performance of our products and services. As part of these ongoing improvements, we have disabled TSL 1.0 and TSL 1.1 on our servers. This means that Anywhere Access no longer works on some very old NETGEAR routers.
As all of the affected devices are legacy routers, we recommend upgrading to a newer device. Modern NETGEAR routers are equipped with the latest security features, firmware updates, and performance enhancements to help safeguard your connections and personal data against emerging threats.
Anywhere Access can be re-enabled on some of the affected models by updating their firmware to the most recent version. For information, see How do I update the firmware on my NETGEAR router?
If your router is one of those affected by this change and updating your router does not re-enable Anywhere Access, then there is no way to restore Anywhere Access functionality.
