New Features:
- Wireless Features for Access Points WBE718 and WBE758:
- Default Global SSID Configuration: Simplifies the setup process with a preconfigured SSID for global use.
- Wireless Settings under ProAV Network Profiles: Provides specialized settings for ProAV network profiles.
- Seamless AP Onboarding Process: Ensures easy and quick integration of new access points into the existing network.
- Support for Up to 8 SSIDs: Allows multiple network configurations with up to 8 distinct SSIDs.
- Support for the Following Security Types:
- OWE (Opportunistic Wireless Encryption)
- WPA2 – PSK (Pre-Shared Key)
- WPA2 – MPSK (Multi-Pre-Shared Key)
- WPA2 – Enterprise
- WPA3 – Enterprise
- WPA3/WPA2 – PSK
- Support for Up to 32 MPSK Entries: If the SSID security type is WPA2-MPSK, up to 32 Multi-Pre-Shared Key entries are supported for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands.
- Fast-Roaming and Auto-Mesh: These features are enabled after device onboarding to provide seamless connectivity and network stability.
- MPSK Group Isolation: A network security feature that prevents devices within the same VLAN from communicating directly with each other. Each group or set of devices is isolated, meaning they can communicate with the network or Internet, but not with each other within the VLAN.
- Support for AP Group Firmware Upgrade: Facilitates the simultaneous upgrade of firmware for groups of access points.
- Support for AP Network Monitoring: Enables real-time monitoring and management of network performance and health.
- Supported Regions: North America and Europe.
- Maximum APs Installation per Site: Supports the installation of up to 10 access points per site.
- Onboarding Requirements: To onboard an access point onto the Engage platform, the access point must be in factory default state or previously managed by Engage.
- Integrated DHCP Server Functions, mDNS Gateway, and Internet Access Control for the PR460X Pro Router:
- Seamless PR460 Onboarding Process: Ensures easy and quick integration of the PR460X into the existing network with a single LAN uplink to the router. When connecting the router to a ProAV switch, make sure that the management VLAN is configured as an untagged VLAN because the auto-trunk feature is enabled.
- DHCP Server: Support for DHCP server functions for up to 32 VLANs.
- mDNS Gateway: Support for multicast DNS (mDNS) Gateway functions.
- VLAN Internet Accessibility: Support to control per-VLAN internet accessibility.
- Group Onboarding: Supports group onboarding to simplify and expedite the onboarding process for switches and APs.
- PTP-TC Support: Supports a per-network Profile Precision Time Protocol (PTP)- Transparent Clock (TC) configuration. (You can enable or disable the PTP-TC configuration.)
- Time Configuration: Enhances site-wide time configuration. The system local time is enforced if SNTP is disabled.
Bug Fixes:
- Resolves the issue where M4500 switch MLAG ports do not display in the port monitoring table.
- Resolves the issue where ports are not correctly assigned when you configure a manual LAG. (CE-5924)
- Resolves the issue where DHCP reservations show no DNS and the default gateway is incorrect, if deviating from the switch IP address. (CE-5984)
- Resolves the issue where a port VLAN assignment does not work. (CE-5884)
- Resolves the issue where the profile color is reset to white if the profile template is modified. (CE-5790)
- Resolves the issue where M4500 MLAG switches do not display correctly on the Topology pages.
Known Issues:
- You cannot use the $ symbol as the first character in the name or password of a site.
- When an M4500 switch is configured with Engage, IP routing is not enabled. (CE-6049)
Workaround: Enable global IP routing by using the M4500 CLI. - During the initial onboarding of an access point (AP), the process may take up to 20 minutes. This duration includes the time required for the firmware upgrade and the configuration of region-specific settings. Additionally, the system may need to reboot to complete the setup.
- Access points are supported only when the management VLAN is set to 1.
Workaround: If the current management VLAN is not 1, manually update the management VLAN settings for the onboarded access points. - In an MLAG setup, the Physical Topology pages do not display the details of connected ports between peers within the same domain correctly.
Workaround: Use the Network Monitoring pages for detailed port statistics. - The auto-stacking function on the M4300 and M4350 switches does not support the M4300-96X model.
Workaround: Use CLI commands if an M4300-96X model must be a member of a stack. - You cannot display the EEPROM information for certain fiber modules.
Workaround: Use the switch CLI to display the EEPROM information. - Connection requests might be refused during the onboarding process of an M4500 switch.
Workaround: Try again until the connection request is successful. - The Site Neighbors table does not auto-refresh.
Workaround: Click the Refresh button to update the table. - The Engage user interface (UI) and the audio-video (AV) UI allow an AVB profile configuration on stacked M4350 switches.
Workaround: Do not configure an AVB profile on stacked M4350 switches because this configuration is not supported. - The management VLAN ID is inconsistent for onboarded devices if a pre-existing management VID does not match with the current site settings.
Workaround: Be sure that the management VLAN ID is the same across the entire site before you upgrade the firmware.
Minimum Engage Agent Version Requirements:
This release requires upgrading the M4250, M4300, M4350, and M4500 switches to a firmware version with Engage agent 2.2.8.26 or later version to ensure that the features supported in Engage version 2.0.1.6 function properly.
To enable Engage features for the newly supported Pro Router PR460X, you must upgrade to the latest PR460X firmware release, version 2.5.1.22.
To enable Engage support for the newly supported WBE758 and WBE718 access points, you must upgrade to the latest access point firmware release when it becomes available. (The access point firmware is expected to be available for download in early November 2024.)
