To create a certificate on the local UI of your PR60X or PR460X router:
Note: A Certificate Authority must be created before you can create a certificate. For instructions on how to create a Certificate Authority, please see How do I create a Certificate Authority on my router.
- On a computer or mobile device that is connected to your PR60X router's network, access https://www.routerlogin.net. Your browser might display a security message, which you can ignore.
- A login window opens.
- Enter the router user name and password.
- The user name is admin. If you did not change your router's password during setup, enter password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
- On the router dashboard, select VPN > Certificate.
- Under the Certificate page, select Certificates.
- Click the + button to add a new certificate.
- The Add/Sign a New Certificate page displays.
- Give the certificate a name under the Descriptive Name field. Note: Special characters are not allowed.
- Select the certificate authority from the dropdown list under Certificate Authority.
- Select Key Length (Bits). By default the value is set to 2048.
- Select the Digest Algorithm type from the drop-down menu. By default, this value is set to SHA256.
- Select the Lifetime (Days) length. By default, this value is set to 365 days.
- Input the Common Name value. For example, the common value may be the WAN IP of the router.
- Add the Certificate Attributes field. From the drop down, select the WAN1 IP address or FQDN name.
- Add the Country Code, State/Province, City, Organization, Organization Unit values the certificate will be associated with.
- Click Apply to save the certificate.
- The certificate will now be created. Once created the following actions are available. Export Certificate, Export Private Key, Renew Certificate, and Delete Certificate.
- To export the certificate, highlight the created certificate and select the Export Certificate button.
