To configure IPsec IKEv2 you must first have the certificate. This must be exported from the router and can be done either through Insight or the local GUI of the router.

To export the Certificate in Insight.

  1. Access the Insight Cloud Portal.
  2. Navigate to the Devices tab and the Device settings of the router.
  3. The router’s settings page will display.
  4. Click General > Certificate Authority.
  5. Highlight the certificate you wish to export and click Export Certificate.
  6. The certificate is now exported and can now be imported into macOS.

To export the Certificate on the local GUI.

  1. On a computer or mobile device that is connected to your PR60X router's network, access https://www.routerlogin.net.                                                                                                                                                            Your browser might display a security message, which you can ignore.
    1. A login window opens.
  2. Enter the router user name and password.
    1. The user name is admin. If you did not change your router's password during setup, enter password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
  3. On the router dashboard, select VPN > Certificate.
  4. Under the Certificate page, select Authorities.
  5. Highlight the certificate you wish to export and click Export Certificate.
  6. The certificate is now exported and can now be imported into macOS.

To setup through macOS.

  1. Copy the Certificate Authority file to the macOS laptop or computer.
  2. Double click the Certificate Authority file and set the keychain to the System under the Add Certificates pop up.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Under the Keychain Access System list click the added certificate and click File > Get Info.
  5. Expand Trust and set When using this certificate to Always Trust.
  6. Click the red close button to close the window.
  7. Next, open System Preferences and click Network.
  8. Click the lock icon and enter the credentials to make changes.
  9. Click the + button to add a new VPN.
  10. Select VPN for Interface.
  11. Select IKEv2 for VPN Type.
  12. Under Service Name, add a distinguishable name.
  13. Click Create to save.
  14. Enter the hostname or IP address to the router under Server Address.
  15. Enter the hostname or IP address to the router under Remote ID.
  16. Click Authentication Settings.
  17. Select Username and enter the Username and Password.
  18. Click OK and click Apply.
