Firmware Update Instructions:
Starting from firmware release 7.0.3.9, the same firmware file supports both models. Download the “onie-installer-x86_64-netgear_m4500_dnv-7.0.3.9_sign” image file to upgrade the M4500-32C and M4500-48XF8C.
Starting from firmware release 7.0.3.9, switch firmware upgrade using .deb file is supported on AV UI. Please refer to Audio Video User Manual and Software Administration Manual for detail.
Starting from firmware release 7.0.1.10, only signed firmware images are supported. You cannot update the firmware directly from an unsigned version (that is, from release 7.0.0.20 or an earlier release) to a signed version such as release 7.0.1.x. Instead, you must update to a transition ONIE image version first, and then to the signed ONIE image version 7.0.1.x as shown below:
- Update from unsigned firmware version 7.0.0.x to transition firmware version 7.0.1.6.
- Update from transition firmware version 7.0.1.6 to signed firmware version 7.0.1.x.
As of this release, the transition firmware image version is 7.0.1.6. The transition firmware image provides options to update to a signed or unsigned firmware image as shown below. Do not use transition firmware for production. The transition firmware “with verification” refers to a signed firmware image and the transition firmware “without verification” refers to an unsigned firmware image.
