How do I manage access to the USB shared folders on my NETGEAR RAX30?

ReadySHARE allows you to connect and share a USB storage device across your network. Occasionally, you might want to disable or limit access to the shared folders on your network. Use the following instructions to disable access or password protect USB shared folders through ReadySHARE.

To disable access or password protect USB shared folders:

  1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router's network.
  2. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
    A login window opens.
  3. Enter the router admin user name and password.

    The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.

    The BASIC Home page displays.

  4. Select ADVANCED > USB Functions > ReadySHARE Storage.
    The USB Storage (Advanced Settings) page displays.
  5. Select an option to apply to a shared folder:
    1. Clear the Enable check box to the left of a shared folder.
      This disables access to this shared folder on your network.
    2. Select the Admin Password Protection check box to the right of a shared folder.

      This requires the admin password to access this folder.

  6. Click or tap the Apply button.
Your selections are applied to the shared folder.
