Activating Plugged-In Mode on your NETGEAR mobile hotspot or mobile router allows you to access increased performance with enhanced WiFi functionality. This functionality boosts WiFi coverage, as well as increasing the max speed of the Ethernet port and enabling 6 GHz WiFi on some models. You can only use this mode while your hotspot is plugged in and the battery is removed. Check your product's user manual for details on the specific performance increases for your model.

6 GHz WiFi is restricted to indoor use only in the US. The power adapter must be plugged in to use the 6 GHz band. 6 GHz band must be manually enabled.

To activate Plugged-In Mode on your NETGEAR mobile hotspot or mobile router:

  1. If your device is powered on, press and hold the Power button.
  2. Select Shut down.
  3. Remove the battery cover from your device.

  4. Remove the battery from your device.
  5. Plug your device into a suitable power adapter.

    Your device powers on.
Plugged-In Mode is now active.
